FOR DOGS & THEIR PEOPLE.
Sizing & Care Guide
A few simple checks before choosing something for your sidekick.
Start with the product, then the measurements
Sizes vary between products and suppliers. A Medium in one item may fit differently from a Medium in another. Use the measurements or size chart for the exact product and option you are ordering. Breed and weight alone are not a size guide.
Measure your dog
- Chest: use a flexible tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Neck: measure around the part of the neck where the collar or garment will sit.
- Back: for clothing, measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail while your dog stands naturally.
Record the measurements in centimetres. Compare them with the specific product chart, including any fit or adjustment instructions. If the chart is missing, a measurement is unclear, or your dog falls between sizes, contact us before ordering with the product link and measurements. Please do not guess the fit.
Check the fit before the first outing
Adjust wearable items following their instructions. Check that your dog can move comfortably and that straps and fastenings stay secure. Check the fit and condition before each use. Do not rely on a damaged or poorly fitting harness or lead.
Clothing for dog people
Dog Mom clothing is for people. Use that garment’s own size information and your body measurements; dog measurements do not apply.
Choose toys for their play style
Consider your dog’s size and how they play. Soft plush toys suit supervised play; no toy is indestructible. Inspect toys, remove loose pieces and replace worn or damaged items. Stop use if the item is unsuitable for your dog.
Keep everyday items clean
Follow the instructions supplied with each product. Rinse bottles and bowls after use and allow them to dry. Do not assume an item is dishwasher-safe, machine-washable or suitable for a particular cleaning product unless its instructions say so.
